杜美路是一条法租界的越界筑路,其中一段是今天的东湖路,为上海一类风景保护道路。这里有不少的优秀历史建筑,东湖宾馆1、2号楼是其中之一。这里曾是杜月笙新公馆。本文力求还原历史真实,以严谨的态度叙述东湖路与杜月笙公馆发生的人和事。

Route Doumer was a boundary-crossing road in the French Concession and one section of it is today,s Donghu Road,a first-class historical street in Shanghai.Among many excellent historical architectures here are the No.1 and 2 Buildings of Donghu Hotel,which was once the House of Du Yuesheng.This essay tries best to restore the history,cautiously narrating the changes of Donghu Road as well as the House of Du Yuesheng.
