Affection for Landscape——The Legendary Story of Qu Zhipu’s Painting The Nine Peaks and the Mao River

松江九峰像一串珍珠镶嵌在长江三角洲平原之上,又如九朵芙蓉盛开于三泖碧波之间。峰泖奇观相映成趣,景色秀美宜人,加之深厚的人文积淀,使得九峰三泖在历史上跻身于天下名山之列,也成为松江乃至整个上海地区的代名词。明代璩之璞作《九峰三泖图》卷,将青山绿水写入图画,再现了九峰三泖的美景。此后,它被带到山东,继而又回归上海,诉说着它传奇的经历以及收藏者对九峰三泖的独特情感。

Looking like a string of pearls embedded in the plain of Yangzte River Delta and also nine lotus bloom on the waves of the Mao River,the nine peaks in Songjiang casted beautiful reflections with the Mao River,which formed a delightful sight making these nine peaks among the world famous mountains in history as well as the representative of Songjiang District and even the entire region of Shanghai.The Nine Peaks and the Mao River painted by Qu Zhipu in the Ming Dynasty reproduced this splendid scenery.Later,the painting was taken to Shandong and then returned to Shanghai,telling its own legend and the unique affection of its collectors.
