Through analyzing the subcultural phenomenon of "online live shows," the essay, with the concept of "communicational closed-loop," attempts to examine the discursive structure and the mode of consumption on which "live shows" depend. For "live shows," the distinctions of the public/the private, the political/the nonpolitical, seriousness/nonseriousness, the virtual/the real have become increasingly ambiguous, and even nonexistent—not only in terms of epistemology, but in terms of way of life and political ontology. The particular relation thereby resulted makes the "sociality" of the participant tied closely to the existing status quo, where the empty communication does not fill up the lack of publicity, but paradoxically becomes publicity per se through dissolving the distinction between the public and the private.
