In the northerm part of the Palace Site of Yinxu, there are handicraft remains of the late Shang Dynasty, including jade, bone horn, mussel shell processing and bronze smelting remains. The popularity of these remains generally belongs to the early Wuding period. These remains had been made before the ceremonial buildings of the area were built, but the bronze handicraft industry survived for a short time. The layout of the handicraft workshop is intertwined with each other. On the whole,it shows a trend that the main body of cast copper remains is in the southerm part of the site, and the main body of jade bone mussel handicraft remains is in the north.According to current information, this area was a handicraft workshop directly controlled by the Shang royal family. The handicraft workshop flourished, existed for a short time, and its demise seemed to be sudden and non-peaceful.
