Rectificative Discussion on Adorno’s Negative Dialectics

一、否定性及辩证法的本质与力量在古希腊哲学中,"辩证法"一词的原指论辩、谈话的技巧,它作为一种方法在各流派的论争中广泛使用。苏格拉底则将辩证法看作是通过持不同意见的人之间的对话、论辩达到正确认识的艺术,其核心是由对立的、不同的各方产生出新的、共同的东西来。

Several popular misunderstandings of Adorno’s Nagetive Dialectics can be found at present:(1)Too much emphasis is put on the link between Dialectics of Enlightenment and Negative Dialectics that the latter’s own theme is neglected;(2)Believing that there still exists positive elements inNegative Dialectics;(3)Assuming that strong critical tendency in Negative Dialectics has led to Romanticism and even Nihilism;(4)Bracketing Negative Dialectics with Post-modernism and announcing the two have inner consistency;(5)Regarding Negative Dialectics as the end of the Critical Theory,the end of Western Marxism.Clarifying these misunderstanding is of big importance to undermine the hidden value of Negative Dialectics.
