Thirty-year of APEC and New Strategic Thinking on China’s Participation in Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation

APEC成立三十年来,在机制建设和多个合作领域取得了引人注目的成果。随着国际和亚太地区政治经济格局的演变,各种内部和外部因素的叠加给APEC带来了新的机遇和挑战。APEC应与时俱进,为新时期的亚太区域经济合作进程制定新愿景。作为我国加入的第一个区域经济合作组织,APEC给我国带来了多方面的经济和政治收益。展望未来,我国应该对APEC的角色和功能进行新的定位,使其在构建人类命运共同体和开放型世界经济、推进"一带一路"建设等方面发挥重要作用。

Over the past three decades,APEC has achieved remarkable results in institution-building and cooperation in various areas.With the evolution of the political and economic pattern in the world and the Asia-pacific region,various internal and external factors have brought new opportunities and challenges to APEC.APEC should keep pace with the times and make a new vision for the Asia-Pacific economic cooperation in a new era.As the first regional economic cooperation organization that China joined,APEC has brought significant economic and political benefits to China.Looking ahead,China should reposition the role and functions of APEC,and make it play an important role in building a community with a shared future for mankind,an open world economy,as well as in promoting the development of the Belt and Road initiative.
