The financial capital power and the bond trading behavior under its control are the core of the main characters’activities in Midnight.The main body of the novel also centers on the speculative activities of Wu sun-fu,Zhao po-tao and others in the public bond market.However,the game of various forces in the course of bond trading has exposed the illusory nature of financial market obviously.This kind of illusion not only shows that the transaction of public debt is controlled by artificial operation,but also shows that the urban cultural environment fostered by the abnormal development of consumer culture is also illusory.Moreover,this illusory nature,along with the growing strength of financial capital,reproduces the main force to maintain its control mode,thus realizing the realistic goal of its main body reconstruction.Taking the illusory nature of financial capital as the starting point,this paper focuses on the analysis of the capitalist ideology revealed behind the illusory nature,and reveals the potential role of financial capital power in the main body reconstruction,constituting an important angle of view to probe into the struggle relationship between the representatives of different social strata in Midnight.
