The Nature of Platforms:A Frontier Survey and Outlook

平台的本质是平台理论研究的基础和逻辑起点。本文综述了关于平台的本质研究的主要理论和最主流的观点。本文回顾技术管理视角下的平台本质理论、战略管理视角下的平台本质理论、产业组织视角下的平台本质理论,以及生态系统视角下的平台本质理论,在此基础上,系统总结和比较了四种视角下平台本质理论的异同,进一步提炼出平台本质理论研究存在的问题以及理论分歧的焦点,并对其进行了前瞻性展望。本研究在一定程度上加强了各研究视角之间的交流和对话,为后续理论与经验研究奠定了基础。

As the foundation and logical starting point of platform theory research,the nature of platform has been studying.This paper reviews the main theories and most mainstream views on the nature of platform.On the basis of reviewing the theory of nature on platform,the paper systematically makes comparisons and contrast on the similarities and differences from the perspective of technology management,strategic management,industrial organization,and ecosystem.Furthermore,the paper concludes the existing problems in the theoretical research of platform’s nature and the forward-looking outlook.Also,the focus of theoretical divergences is further refined.This study,to some extent,strengthens the communication and dialogue among different research perspectives and lays a foundation for subsequent theoretical and empirical researches.
