Water conservancy project is one of the important basic projects in China,which is closely related to the improvement of people’s living standard.Through the construction of water conservancy projects,natural disasters can be effectively prevented,the water retaining and water storage functions in the project can be effectively brought into play,and the water distribution in the season can be adjusted.So that each season of water can be reasonably distributed,further water conservancy projects to improve the utilization of water resources.Therefore,this paper will analyze the practical application of GIS technology,and then discuss the specific application of GIS technology in the information of water conservancy projects in the new era,so as to provide relevant people from all walks of life for exchange and reference.
