牛郎和织女的爱情故事,在中国流传甚广。中国的情人节就源自这个故事。从前,有一个勤劳而诚实的男孩,出生在一个农民家庭。后来,他的父母去世了。他生活穷苦,只能勉强糊口。男孩养了一头牛。这头牛很忠诚,帮他干了许多农活。因此,大家都叫这个男孩"牛郎"。

There is a widely spread love story in China about a cowherd falling in love with a weaver girl.Chinese Valentine’s Day came from this story.Long long ago,there was a boy who was diligent and honest.He was born in a peasant(农民)family.Later,his parents died.He was very poor and lived from hand to mouth.He adopted a buffalo(水牛).It was very loyal and helped him do a lot of farm work.So the boy was called the Cowherd(牛郎).
