A Special Leap Year Birthday

你有没有发现2020年是闰年?刚满8岁的小勒有个烦恼:他的生日在2月29日,每4年才有一次真正的生日。小勒不明白,为什么他不能像其他人一样年年过生日,为什么2月29日这一天不可以年年都有。世界上又有多少和他一样的人呢?小勒似乎在图书馆里找到了答案。勒罗伊是个时光穿梭者——至少他是这么告诉自己的。虽然小勒已经读二年级了,但他认定自己只有两岁。

Leroy was a time traveler—that’s what he told himself,at least he was in second grade,but he told himself he was only two years old.Today was his birthday:February 29,also known as leap day.That day only came once every four years,though.To Leroy,that meant he only had a real birthday once every four years.To Leroy,most of his eight years were just“pretend(假装的)years.”
