Queensland Is Turning Japanese

According to Japanese legend,Japan’s interaction with Queensland dated back to the 15th century,when some explorers sailed down the east coast of Australia.In Australia’s record,the first Japanese migrant(移民)was an acrobat(杂技演员)who arrived in 1871 by boat,later marrying a local in Melbourne(墨尔本),and eventually moved to Queensland.The couple owned a travelling circus during the 1880s and 1890s.During the same period,a great number of Japanese divers were hired to work in the pearling industry in Queensland.Early Japanese settlers also worked in North Queensland’s sugar cane industry.
