中外合作办学模式下学术英语课程设置优化——以重庆理工大学两江国际学院为例

摘要 近年来,在中外合作办学项目背景下,如何高效开展学术英语教学、优化课程设置,是大学英语教师必须不断思考和回答的问题。重庆理工大学两江国际学院成立五年来,学术英语课程建设方面有了一些探索和尝试,但依然不能充分满足学生专业课程学习需求和留学需求,存在学生对项目了解不足、课程设置滞后、课时有限、教材内容与学生专业学习脱节、课程教学团队有待建设等问题。在中外合作办学背景下,深入分析学术英语课程存在的问题,不断优化课程设置和教学模式,为学生专业学习和今后进一步深造打下坚实基础。 In recent years,under the background of sino-foreign educational cooperation programs,English teachers in universities have to find solutions to such pressing issues as how to effectively carry out academic English teaching and how to optimize the curriculum design.Having been in operation for five years,Chongqing Liangjiang International College has made serious attempts to academic English construction.However,the current course can hardly meet students’academic studies in their special fields and their demands for studying abroad.Problems,such as students’insufficient knowledge about the programs,much-delayed course schedule,limited teaching hours,unpractical teaching materials in the textbooks,which is out of touch with students’professional learning,and unprepared EAP teachers.By deeply analyzing the existing problems in academic English,this paper offers some suggestions to optimize the curriculum design and teaching model under the background of sino-foreign education cooperation,with the hope to lay a solid foundation for students’professional studies and future studies.
