席勒在西方美育史上第一个明确提出"美育"的概念,蔡元培在中国率先确立了"美育"的地位,是近代美育的奠基人。席勒、蔡元培都受到了康德哲学的影响,各有侧重,二者都关注人与社会现实的关系,但角度不同,对美育的阐释也不尽相同。

Schiller was the very person who explicitly formulated the concept of aesthetic education for the first time in history.Cai Yuanpei,the founder of aesthetic education in modern China,took the lead in popularizing aesthetic education in practice and provided impetus for aesthetic education to achieve its status.Kant’s philosophy influenced both Schiller and Cai Yuanpei,both of whomfocused on the relationship between man and social reality from different angles.In addition,Schiller and Cai Yuanpei had different interpretations on aesthetic education.
