思维可视化教学模式对思辨能力培养的作用——基于英语专业写作课教学的实验研究

The Role of Thinking Visualization in Critical Thinking Ability Training:A Teaching Experimental Study

思辨能力对学生的学业及将来事业的发展具有极其重要的影响。英语专业学生思辨能力不足的状况在外语教学领域长期受到关注,如何在现有的教学条件下提升学生的思辨能力已成为亟需外语教学研究者回答的课题。英语专业三年级写作课通过为期一年的教学实验,检验思维可视化教学模式对学生思辨能力培养的作用。结果发现,思维可视化教学模式能显著提高学生整体思辨能力;对学生的分析能力和推理能力有显著促进作用;对评价能力亦有促进,但未达显著水平。

Critical thinking ability has a crucial role to play in students’academic development and future career.However,the incompetence in critical thinking of college English majors has been criticized for long.Against such backdrop,it seems imperative to find effective teaching approach to improve their critical thinking ability in the present conditions.This paper reports an experimental study on the training effect of thinking visualization upon students’critical thinking abilities.Through 1-year-long training in writing class of third year English majors,this research finds that thinking visualization can:1)significantly improve the subjects’overall critical thinking ability;2)significantly promote the students’abilities of analysis and reasoning;3)positively but insignificantly better the subjects’ability of evaluation.
