Zhuolugucheng Site(The old city site in Zhuolu),or Huangdicheng Site(The city site of Emperor Huang)lies on the north of Sanpu Village in Fanshan Town, attached to Zhuolu County in Hebei Province. The site takes the shape of irregular quadrangle in the plane, which is over 500 meters long from south to north and about 450 to 500 meters wide from east to west. There stand city walls with all levels and exist abundant remains on the surface of the city, such as grey pottery pieces and fragments, tile pieces and some stone artifacts. The site was co-excavated by three units, including Research Center for Chinese Frontier Archaeology of Jilin University,Zhuolu County Bureau of Cultural Relics and Hebei Institute of Cultural Relics, with the discovery of a certain number of relics and remains which indicates that the city was built in the period of warring states most probably and used until Han Dynasty. However, from the profile of the wall, there had been some human activities over the site formerly before the construction of the city.
