American Council on Education(ACE),the largest association in U.S.education system,is one of the most important participants in the internationalization of universities. In order to enhance universities’international competitiveness,ACE puts forward the idea of"comprehensive internationalization",engaging in internationalization by planning"comprehensive internationalization",creating and leading international learning communities, building multiple platforms for international collaboration, and conducting a program"Mapping Internationalization on U.S.Campuses".Although there are still confusions about its role, the slowing-down of the number of overseas students and over-commercialization,ACE’s practices contribute to avoiding homogenization of the internationalization strategy of universities,to solving the problem of ineffective implementation, and to broadening the channels of international cooperation, that open up a new way for deep internationalization of universities.
