Boosting Cultural Confidence: A New Imperative for College Foreign Language Teaching in the Context of Cultural Globalization

在文化全球化语境下,西方强势文化对中国大学生的文化自信产生了诸多影响。为此,本文主张突破思想政治教育的瓶颈,将培养大学生的文化自信融入高校外语教学中去。教师通过高校外语教学帮助大学生正确解读西方文化、提升他们的文化认知水平、增强他们的文化观念,并提高他们的外语新读写能力,以期达到引导他们自觉传承与传播中国传统文化及社会主义文化的目的。

The western dominant culture has various impacts on Chinese college students in the context of cultural globalization.This paper argues to integrate the cultivation of cultural self-confidence into college foreign language teaching to make a breakthrough in ideological and political education.Teachers should guide students to have correct understanding of western culture and boost their cultural cognition,which aims to make college students inherit and spread the traditional Chinese and socialist culture.
