四年咎奴蓸令戈“蓸”字小考

A Study on the Character“Cao(蓸)”in the Inscription of Si Nian Jiunu Cao Ling Dagger-axe

以往学者对于四年咎奴蓸令戈“蓸”字的解释有不同意见,本文认为该字可读为“造”,表铸造义。由于戈铭地名“咎奴”无法确指,有关戈铭的国属也有争议,本文结合“蓸”字推测戈铭属韩国的可能性较大,铸造时间在韩昭侯以后、韩桓惠王八年以前。

In the past,scholars had many ambiguities in the the character“Cao(蓸)”in the inscription of Si Nian Jiunu Cao Ling Dagger-axe.We believe that the character“Cao(蓸)”means manufacture.Since the geographical name of“Jiunu(咎奴)”cannot be referred to with certainty,there are many ambiguities about the country of the inscriptions.Based on the character“Cao(蓸)”,this dagger-axe can be classified as a Han weapon,The Si Nian Jiunu Cao Ling Dagger-axe was made after the Zhaohou,before the eigth years of Huanhui's reign of the Han State.
