Brief Survey on the Water Excavated Anchor in Huludao Sea Area

2022年5月,葫芦岛市博物馆组织调查小组对觉华岛海域出水巨型木锚开展实地调查工作,初步判断船锚的年代为元末明初。出水木质船锚体型巨大,在渤海湾属于首次发现,具有重要的考古和研究价值。此次调查汇总、整理了近几年葫芦岛地区发现的出水船锚信息,为研究中国古代造船史、航海技术史、渤海湾航运史提供新的考古实物材料。

In May,2022,Huludao Museum organized an investigation team to carry out on-the-spot investigation of giant wooden anchors in the sea area of Juehua Island,and preliminarily judged that the anchor was in the late Yuan Dynasty and the early Ming Dynasty.The wooden anchor of the outlet water is huge in size and was first discovered in Bohai Bay,which has important archaeological and research value.This survey summarizes and sorts out the water excavated anchor information found in Huludao area in recent years,providing new archaeological material for studying the history of ancient Chinese shipbuilding,navigation technology and Bohai Bay shipping.
