“V型”约束下泡沫铝夹芯圆管的准静态横向压缩性能研究 被引量:1

Research on the Quasi-static Lateral Crushing of Aluminum Foam Sandwich Tubes with V-Shaped Constraint

摘要 论文对受“V型”约束泡沫铝夹芯管的准静态横压性能进行了实验研究,观察到三种失效模式包括整体屈服、芯材剪切和局部凹陷.分析了泡沫铝夹芯管的几何参数和横向约束夹角的角度对其失效模式和承载与吸能能力的影响.结果表明,泡沫铝芯材的厚度对三种模式的竞争具有重要影响;在准静态横向压缩下,泡沫铝夹芯管的承载与吸能能力大于对应的空管;泡沫铝夹芯管的承载与吸能能力随着外管直径的增加而增加,随着内管直径的增加而减小;“V型”约束夹角的角度越大,泡沫铝夹芯管的承载与吸能能力也越高. Sandwich structures with lightweight cellular cores show high specific strength and excellent energy-absorption capacity.Tubes are also widely used for energy dissipation.The combination of these two kinds of structures might exhibit better performance on load-carrying and energy-absorption capacity.In this paper,the sandwich tube structure,which consists of two concentric aluminum tubes of different diameters separated by aluminum foam,is investigated.Experimental studies on the quasi-static lateral crushing of aluminum foam sandwich tubes with V-shaped constraint are carried out.The collapse history and load-displacement curves are obtained.Three different crushing patterns are observed in the experiments,including overall yielding,core shear,and indentation.Deformation and failure mechanisms of aluminum foam sandwich tubes under lateral loading and constraint are revealed.The results show that,the thickness of the aluminum foam core of the sandwich tubes plays an important role in the competition of these three crushing patterns.Different factors are considered,including the geometric parameters of the aluminum foam sandwich tubes and the angle of the lateral V-shaped constraint,and their influences on load-carrying and energy-absorption capacity are analyzed.It is found that the load-carrying and energy-absorption capacity of the aluminum foam sandwich tubes is higher than that of the corresponding empty tubes.The load-carrying and energy-absorption capacity of sandwich tubes increases with the increase of the outer tube diameter,but decreases with the increase of the inner tube diameter.The larger the angle of the lateral V-shaped constraint is,the better performance on load-carrying and energy-absorption capacity of aluminum foam sandwich tubes is.The present work is expected to provide some insights for researchers and engineers into designing such structures for energy absorption applications.
