近代英国和南太平洋:新世纪以来的学术史梳理

Modern Britain and the South Pacific:A Brief Survey of Historiography in the Twenty-First Century

21世纪以来,世界史、全球史研究的进一步推进,太平洋地区也因之成为国内外史学界所属意的一方"学术热土"。自詹姆斯·库克以来,英国在南太平洋地区始终保持着各种形式的介入与存在,并塑造着当地的政治、经济和环境秩序。时至今日,这仍是一个值得关注的领域。近代英国在政治、军事方面的举动,曾是历史学家们所讨论的最主要话题,而随着史学研究的发展,各类不同视角进一步将英国在南太平洋的动态推向细节化。例如,从"政治—宗教"谱系的传统研究,到对文明碰撞中典型案例的关注,再到当今太平洋史研究中的前沿范式和动向,都有着相当的学术和现实意义,为该领域的研究注入了不同的色彩。同时,我国历史学者们在21世纪以来的太平洋史研究中,也提出了许多独到而富有创见的观点。

From the dawn of the twenty-first century,the Pacific has become a hotspot for historians amid the growing popularity of world and global history as subjects of study.Britain has maintained a presence in the South Pacific since the time of Captain James Cook,and continues to influence its politics,economic development,and environment.Historians have traditionally focused on British political and military operations.However,new perspectives have emerged that have examined these topics in much greater detail,paying specific attention to the relationship between politics and religion,the clash of civilizations,and contemporary paradigms.Chinese scholars are also adding their own distinctive and thoughtful insights into twenty-first-century Pacific Studies.
