Investigation on the Chinese Model Ships at the 1904 St. Louis World Expo

1904年圣路易斯世博会得到当时晚清政府的支持和参与。清政府成立筹办委员会,派驻官员督办中国馆建设,在中国海关总税务司署的承办下,全国各地参展踊跃。本文基于《1904年美国路易斯安那(圣路易斯)商品博览会中国展品目录》,对中国各海关地区提供的参展船模进行梳理、统计,厘清数量,整理翻译相关描述,形成基础性资料,为进一步研究提供参考。

The Qing supported and participated in the 1904 St.Louis World Expo.The government set up an organizing committee and sent officials to supervise the construction of the China Pavilion.The General Administration of Customs and Excise sponsored exhibitors from across the empire.Based on the 1904 Louisiana(St.Louis)Commodity Expo China Exhibits Catalog,this paper combs through statistics and related descriptions to arrive at some basic conclusions and point toward areas of further research.
