Overview of the Preservation and Conservation of Objects with Inlays in the Palace Museum Collection

摘要 本文从镶嵌类文物的基本定义、涵盖类别、常见病害入手,结合破损严重的修复案例,简述故宫博物院院藏该类文物的保护和修复情况。针对镶嵌文物材质多样、病害复杂的特点,采取恰当而且行之有效的修复措施是修复者综合能力的体现。主张在掌握修复技巧的同时,探索文物损伤规律,采取相应措施控制环境,减缓病害进展步伐,是有效保护和修复的途径。 This article starts with the basic definition,categories covered,and damages commonly seen among objects with inlays,and briefly introduces the preservation and conservation of these objects through cases of conserving objects with grave damages.Employing appropriate and effective conservation measures by taking into consideration of the diversity of the inlaid materials and the complexity of the damages reflects the comprehensive capability of the conservator.While mastering conservational techniques,effective preservation and conservation approaches can only be attained through paying equal attention to the exploration of patterns of the damages,and applying corresponding measures to control the environment and slow down the pace of damage deterioration.
