苔岑之契 师生之谊——谈马衡与唐兰的交往

Mentor as a Friend: the Interaction between Ma Heng and Tang Lan

马衡与唐兰都是著名学者,在学术界取得了很高的成就。同时,他们也是故宫博物院不同时期的管理者。两位先生从三十年代开始直至马衡去世,二十多年间亦师亦友,始终保持着学术交流和深厚友谊。作为故宫博物院的领导,马衡和唐兰在不同时期为院内各项工作,尤其是展览陈列、学术科研工作作出了重要贡献,为目前提倡的"学术故宫"建设奠定了坚实的基础。本文从纷乱的史料中,钩沉两位先生的交往往事,以追慕老一辈故宫人、学术大师的精神与风范。

Ma Heng and Tang Lan(1901-1979)were both accomplished scholars renowned in academic circles,while they both served as director of the Palace Museum in different periods.From the 1930 s to Ma Heng’s passing away,their association as both friends and mentor and student lasted more than two decades.They connected in scholarly exchange and daily contact alike.As directors,they both made important contributions to the Museum’s management,particularly in terms of organizing exhibitions and facilitating academic research,laying solid foundation for today’s efforts in strengthening the"Academic Palace Museum".Based on numerous and complicated historical resources,this article records the history of their connections,as a tribute to the spirit and grace of scholarly masters as predecessor of the Palace Museum staff.
