Ma Heng(1881-1955)was one of the pioneers in the research of oracle bones.His made distinguished accomplishment in disseminating the studies of oracle bones.However,few of his studies were published in his lifetime,his name,therefore,rarely comes up in the research history of oracle bones.This thesis was never published in full during his lifetime,and it is the earliest text introducing oracle bones and their value.The insight and succinctness demonstrate his profound understanding of the topic,which,remains pertinent for contemporary readers.
