Shanghai’s Non-Governmental Diplomacy During the China International Import Expo

作为进博会举办城市,上海积极利用进博会平台发展民间外交。民间外交作为新时代我国总体外交的重要组成部分,对拓展和维护我国的国家利益、夯实对外合作基础、增进中外民心相通建设发挥着不可替代的作用。上海充分发挥其外向型的各方优势,将进博会与民间外交有机结合,不断开拓对外交往的新空间。未来,如何利用好进博会所带来的溢出效应和持续效应,以民间形式持续推动上海深化改革、创新发展和资源整合,进而助推区域和国家整体协同发展进程,是民间外交的重大课题。

As the host city of the China International Import Expo,Shanghai has taken advantage of the platform provided by the Expo to develop its non-governmental diplomacy.As an important part of China’s overall diplomacy in the new era,non-governmental diplomacy has played an irreplaceable role in expanding and safeguarding China’s national interests,consolidating the foundation of international cooperation and enhancing the connection between the Chinese people and people in other countries.While giving a full play to its global-oriented strength,Shanghai has combined the Expo with non-governmental diplomacy in an effective way,opening up new spaces for international exchanges.In thedevelopment of non-governmental diplomacy in the future,it is a major question to tackle as to how to take advantage of the spillover and sustainable effects brought by the Expo to continuously promote Shanghai’s deeper reform and innovative progress,to integrate the resources of NGOs for boosting coordinated regional and national development.
