A Preface of the Collation of Yang Honglie's An Introduction to the Study of Chinese Poetry

《中国诗学大纲》是杨鸿烈在新文化观念影响之下对中国古典诗学传统的一种理论反思,是一部个性鲜明、瑕不掩瑜的著作。无论从民国时期古典诗学学史的角度,还是从百年新诗诗学史的角度考察,该书都有一定参考价值。该书在诗学观念革新、引入比较诗学理论和方法以及建构新诗诗学等方面,都作出了重要贡献。由于原文引文讹误为数不少,标点亦不大符合当代人的阅读习惯,因此,仍有重新勘校、整理的必要。

Yang Honglie(Yang Hung Lieh)'s An introduction to the Study of Chinese Poetryis a work with distinct personality which is a theoretical reflection on the traditional Chinese Classical Poetics under the influence of May Fourth New Cultural Ideas.The defects cannot overshadow the great virtues of this book.Whether examined from the perspective of the history of classical poetics during the Republic of China period or from the perspective of the history of vernacular poetry theories,Yang's book has significant value.The book has made important contributions to the reform of poetic concepts,the introduction of comparative poetic theories and methods,and the construction of vernacular poetics.Because of the errors in the original citation and the fact that the punctuation is not in line with contemporary reading habits,there is still a need for reproofreading and revising this book.
