仙道小说,或称道教小说,是指以宣扬神仙信仰、反映神仙或道士生活为主要内容的小说。仙道小说作为宣扬、体现道的一种文学形式,其中蕴含着多种美。如从人物形象上说,神仙具有生命美、长寿美、扬善惩恶美、急人危难美、变化美、超越美及飘逸美等多种美感;从情节上说,仙道小说具有一种奇幻美;从神仙的生活及居住环境上说,仙道小说给人一种富丽、自然与和谐的美感;从风格上说,仙道小说追求的是一种雄壮之美。
