摘要
现代汉语中的"投机"一词,一直以来被认为源自佛教。本文通过历史语言学和中日比较语言学的视角,对"投机"一词进行考察后认为,现代汉语中的"投机"实际上有两个不同的来源。表示"与他人意趣相合"之意的"投机",的确是源自佛教词汇"投机"。而经济术语的"投机"则是源自近代日语的借词,其与佛教词汇的"投机"只是字形偶然一致,两者并无任何联系。诞生于近代日本的经济术语"投机",又是源自中国古籍中表示"切中时机、抓住机会"之意的"投机"。
The word of"touji(投机)"in modern Chinese language has all along been traced back to Buddhism.This article investigates"touji(投机)"from the perspectives of historical linguistics and Chinese-Japanese comparative linguistics,and finds out two different origins of this word.One origin that means"sharing similar interest with somebody"is from Buddhist vocabulary.However,another origin as an economic term meaning"speculation"is a loan word from modern Japanese language.These two"touji(投机)"just have the same form by chance,and in fact there is no connection between them.The economic term"speculation"in modern Japanese originates from the"touji(投机)"in the Chinese ancient books that means"grasping the right moment and seizing the opportunity".
