农业高校本科生专业英语课程教学改革探索——以“机械电子工程专业英语”课程为例

Current Situation and Reform Exploration of Professional English for Undergraduates in Agricultural Colleges and Universities ——Taking “Professional English for Mechanical and Electronic Engineering” as an Example

首先概述了高校本科生专业英语学习的重要性。然后从三个方面阐释了当前农业高校专业英语教与学的现状,即高校、学生和任课教师对专业英语课程的认知、传统教学内容设置及其教学方法,教材的内容、时效性及其与科研实践结合紧密性等。进一步,以"机械电子工程专业英语"课程为例,分别从任课教师观念的转变、教学内容及其框架体系构建、教学模式与教学方法改革三方面,阐述了专业英语课程教学改革的思路与策略。教学团队按照上述模式对中国农业大学"机械电子工程专业外语"三年来的教学实践表明,通过课程改革,学生对课程的认可度、兴趣和获得感较之以往均得到了明显改观,可为其它专业英语课程教学提供借鉴。

Firstly,the importance of professional English learning for undergraduates in agricultural colleges and universities is summarized.Then the current situation of professional English teaching and learning was analyzed from three aspects,that is,the recognition of professional English courses by universities,students and teachers,the traditional teaching content and its teaching methods,and the content,timeliness and their close integration with scientific research practice of teaching materials.Furthermore,taking the course"professional English for mechanical and electronic engineering"as an example,this paper elaborates the ideas and strategies for the teaching reform of professional English from three aspects:the change of teachers′ideas,the construction of teaching content and its framework system,and the reform of teaching modes and methods.The teaching team′s three-year teaching practice of"professional English for mechanical and electronic engineering"in China Agricultural University shows that through the curriculum reform,students′recognition,interest and sense of acquisition of the curriculum have been significantly improved compared with the past,which can provide reference for the teaching of other English for specific purposes.
