波多野乾一与近代日本的中共研究

波多野乾一是日本战前中共研究领域的代表性人物之一。东亚同文书院的教育经历培养了他对中国问题的了解与关心,对中国政局的长期关注使他对中国的社会主义运动发生兴趣,成为他从事中共研究的契机。加入外务省、兴亚院与大东亚省后,为了满足日本政府的迫切需求,他创作了大量的中共研究作品。其研究集中探讨中国共产党的组织问题与军队问题,以满足当时日本政府的政治需要。其研究材料主要使用中共公开发表的文件与中日两国报刊的报道,无法像斯诺与史沫特莱那样通过实地接触与调查获得一手资料。波多野在战前的中共研究具有浓厚的政治性调查色彩,需要回到近代中日关系的脉络中进行把握。

Hatano-kenichi was one of the representative researcher of the Communist Party of China in Japan before 1945.The educational experience of the Tung Wen College has cultivated his concern for the Chinese issue.His long-term reports on China’s political issues have made him iriterested in China’s socialist movement and have become an opportunity for him to study the Communist Party of China.After joining the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs,the East Asia Development Board and the Ministry of Greater East Asia,for the urgent needs of the Japanese government,he produced a large number of research results about the Communist Party of China His research focused on the development of the party organization and the military of the Communist Party of China to meet the political needs of the Japanese government at the time.His research materials mainly use the documents published by the Communist Party of China and the reports of Chinese and Japanese newspapers.It is impossible to obtain first-hand information through physical contact and field investigations like Snow and Smedley.In the pre-war the study of the Communist Party of China,Hatano’s duality of political investigation and academic inquiry requires a return to the context of modern Sino-Japanese relations.
