The Rage Against Reason

本文把哈贝马斯与实用主义的对话和融合放置于西方理性传统在二十世纪之大灾变的背景下,特别是在二十世纪八十年代达于顶点的所谓后现代主义的声浪中加以定位,在缕述怒怼现代理性传统之谱系和叙事的基础上,着力揭示哈贝马斯和伽达默尔的对话理性模式与包括皮尔斯、杜威和米德在内的实用主义传统的亲和性,并将这种理智传统和精神气质追溯到作为"口头和书面对话"传统的"伟大卫士"的另一个柏拉图那里,从而为晚近的反理性传统做了正本清源、拨乱反正的工作.

Based on a systematic description and critique on the branches and narrative of modern rational tradition,this article aims to reveal the compatibility between Habermas-Gadamer’s paradigm of communicative reason and the pragmatism tradition includes Pierce,Dewey and Mead,in terms of locating this conversation and integration in the context of the disaster of western rational tradition in 20 th century,especially in the heated wave of post-modernity in the 1980 s;and further,trace this intellectual tradition and spirit back to the other Plato who is the“great champion”of the“verbalwritten dialogue”tradition,thereby conduct a radical reform and rectification for the recent anti-rational tradition.
