摘要 A two-month-old infant with fever, decreased acceptance of feeds and fast breathing for two days was sent to our department. On examination, the baby was found to be in respiratory failure with 80%saturation.The baby was intubated and subjected to manual positive pressure ventilation. We contacted the pediatric intensive care unit(PICU)of the hospital, but no beds were available.Such scenario is frequently seen by physicians of pediatric emergency units in developing countries. The question is how far we should go?
