In order to improve our army’s unloading capability without wharf in large-scale landing operations,the paper firstly analyzes the construction background,composition and function of Normandy landing artificial port.Then,it points out that artificial port is the key condition of large-scale landing operations,and we should vigorously develop unloading equipment system without wharf for artificial port,do well in the hydrological and meteorological support of artificial port construction plan,and pay attention to the training and management of unloading equipment without wharf in peacetime.
