語體語法的學科系統與理論推闡

The System of Disciplines in Stylistic-Register Grammar and Their Theoretical Implications

摘要 本文首先介紹語體語法基元要素——"體原子"理論的新進展,討論體原子的組類屬性及其質素原理.在此基礎上提出體原子語體語法的學科結構系統的初步設想,包括(但不限於)當代語體語法(Contemporary Register Grammar)、歷史語體語法(Historical Register Grammar)、比較語體語法(Compara-tive Register Grammar)、文學語體語法(Literary Register Grammar)以及更宏遠的理論語體語法(Theoretical of Register Grammar).在上述學科體系的基礎上,語體語法理論需進一步推闡與深化,不僅要面對Labov的風格説、Biber的語域説、Kiesling的立場説和傳統的diglossia二言説并與之對話,更重要的是語體語法核心理論中"功能形式化原理"的建立(Rizzi,1997)以及"語距功能句法化"的論證. This paper introduces a newly developed concept,the‘Register Atom’,in the Stylistic-Register Grammar(SRG)and discusses their classification,characterization and primitive features discovered recently.On this basis it is proposed that the SRG characterized in terms of RA can and should be divided into(or constructed by)various sub-disciplines,including,but not limited to,Contemporary Register Grammar,Historical Register Grammar,Comparative Register Grammar,Literary Register Grammar and Theory of Register Grammar.Based on the disciplinary system developed here it is further argued that there are deeper theoretical implications by the RA-based SRG with respect to Labov’s Style,Biber’s Register,Keisling’s Stance and Diglossia in general,among which,the most important one is the formalization of communicative distance,which can be syntacticized again,giving rise to a Register Syntax,similar to Rizzi’s principle of formalizing functional elements on syntactic trees.
