Contributions of Prof. Ota Tatsuo for Pekingese in the Qing Dynasty

太田辰夫先生对汉语史研究所做的贡献是多方面的,除了近代汉语研究,他对古代汉语研究以及《西游记》、元曲等通俗文学也造诣极深.其中清代北京话研究无疑是太田先生整个研究中极为重要的组成部分,本文着重介绍他对这一领域的贡献,主要从以下三个方面进行了叙述:1.阐明了北京话到清代才形成.2.探索清代北京话的语法特点.3.发掘早期北京话的新资料.

Contributions of Prof. Ota Tatsuo in the field of historical Chinese are multi-directional, including contemporary Chinese, old Chinese and some popular literature such as Xiyouji(《西游记》) and Yuanqu(元曲). His studies on Pekingese in the Qing dynasty are particularly prominent. This paper introduces his work on this topic from three perspectives: 1. His seminal proposal that Pekingese was a language established during the Qing dynasty. 2. Research on grammatical characteristics has been conducted. 3. New documents have found by him.
