摘要 For a long time, translation class has been taught in the same way as a vocabulary class. The ultimate goal of this class is to enable students to understand each words. Therefore, a fixed model continues in translation teaching:the students translate the sentences or passages given by the teacher, then the teacher will analyze the sentences word by word and give reference answers. The whole process only remains on the surface. As a result, students may find that they get little progress in translation at the end of a se?mester. The problem is rooted in the incomprehension of what translation exactly is:translation is not only the accumulation of words but also the process of deverbalization and re-creation of the language. To solve this problem, we need to know the essence of transla?tion, or in another word, its ontological affiliation.
