This paper examines the phonetic evolution of打.Firstly,from the an-gle of ancient poetries,this paper demonstrates that the phonetic records of打loses its-ng[-?]from Middle-Tang Dynasty onwards;Secondly,from examining records of ancient dictionaries,the paper notes that Zhongyuan Yinyun was the first dictionary to record losing-ng[-?]of fj,which was significantly after the Tang Dynasty.Through these two perspectives,the paper attempts to draft the timeline of phonetic evolution of打and show its history trail of phonetic pronunciation.
