As an integral branch of artificial intelligence,large language models(LLMs)have demonstrated exceptional performance in processing complex text tasks,revealing their distinctive advantages across various medical contexts.This article introduces the fundamental concepts of natural language processing and LLMs,with a particular emphasis on their potential to enhance the quality of remote dermatological services,assist clinical workflow,and improve the efficiency of education and research in dermatology.Furthermore,it examines the challenges that arise in the application of LLMs,including constrained access to training data,issues related to the quality assurance of output,data security,and ethical concerns in academic research.Potential directions for improvement of LLMs are correspondingly pointed out.The objective of this article is to promote the development of safer,more efficient,and more reliable LLMs,thereby advancing dermatology.
