The symphonic poem 'Also sprach Zarathustra' was created at the turn of century, also the late romanticism when the contradictory of form and content, heteronomy and autonomy is obviously shown. After reflecting on the 'Also sprach Zarathustra', the thesis discusses the background, reason of these contradictories and their effects on historical development of romanticism.
