A Study of the Call-Response Pattern in Beloved

《宠儿》是非裔美国女作家托尼.莫里森1993年荣获诺贝尔文学奖的鼎力之作。作为一部黑人文学作品,该小说在内容和形式上蕴涵着丰富的黑人口述传统文化。呼唤—应答模式在该部作品中的运用,不仅在语言上继承传递了黑人文化传统,而且在主题上解构了传统视角的二元对立话语,实现了文本解读的开放性与多样性。

Beloved,a work by Toni Morrison,an American female Black writer,contributes a lot to her winning of the Nobel Prize for literature in 1993.As a Black literary work,it draws many sources from African oral traditions both in content and in form.On the basis of the theories of culture studies and post-structuralism,this paper makes a deep study of the novel's application of call and response pattern in African oral literature from the perspective of Black discourse,and points out that the adoption of this pattern in this novel not only benefits her in inheriting and passing on the Black cultural tradition,but also deconstructing the traditional ideology of binary oppositions,thus allowing for dynamic and complex interpretation of this novel.
