The Third Mode: On Relationship between Nature and Man in Robert Frost's Poems

西方文化传统中处理人与自然的关系有两种基本模式:帝国模式和阿卡迪亚模式,但二者皆有其弊端,终不能导向人与自然的和谐相处。本文从生态批评的视角探讨弗罗斯特诗歌中人与自然的关系。弗罗斯特的诗歌展现了"在分离的基础上交流"的独特的人与自然的关系。这种关系处于两种传统模式之间,扬长避短,为如何处理人与自然的关系提供了一种成熟可行的模式。

This article focuses on the relationship between nature and man in Robert Frost's poems.The relationship is characterized by a balance between separation and communication,namely communication on the basis of separation.Compared with the two traditional modes of the relationship between nature and man in western culture,this relationship embodied in Frost's poems provides third mode,which is practical and has much significance.
