英汉隐喻跨文化对比研究

A Cross-Cultural Contrast Study of English and Chinese Metaphor

基于莱考夫的隐喻理论构架,本文从中英文化对比的视角对隐喻进行比较研究。当代认知观认为隐喻是通过某一领域的经验来谈论另一领域经验的认知过程。人类文化的共性铸就了英汉隐喻中的相似之处,中英文化各自的特性又造成了他们之间的差异。跨文化交流过程中,不仅要了解英汉两种语言结构,理解隐喻本身的意思,更要深入学习隐喻背后深厚的文化内涵。

Based on the theory of Lakoff's metaphor framework,this article makes a contrast study of Chinese and English metaphor from the cultural perspective.Metaphor,nowadays widely regarded as a way of thinking and a method of cognition,is the understanding and experiencing one kind of thing by way of another.Chinese and English metaphors have many similarities on the basis of their common cognition and some inevitable differences because of their different cultural tradition and background.One should not only learn the language itself,and know the literal meaning of metaphors,but also know the cultural background of the language and the cultural sense of metaphors during cross-cultural communication.
