Some basic knowledge on valves was presented, such as classification of valves and basic parameters of valves. Different types of valves (including ball valve, butterfly valve, cut-off valve and brake valve) commonly used in designing painting line and their features were introduced. The factors to be considered in selection of valves were also described.
