St. John s University was an Anglican university located in Shanghai and ten thousands of students dreamed to entering this famous university. Therefore, it enjoyed a prestige of 'Oriental Harvard' and it occupied an outstanding place not only on urban history of Shanghai but also on educational history of modern China.
