二十世纪前期买办及其社会生活状况研究

A Study of the Compradors and Their Social Life during the Prophase of the 20th Century

买办是近代中国通商口岸显赫的、有较大影响力的社会阶层。在以往的研究中,较多关注十九世纪买办的兴起及其社会状况,而一般认为到了二十世纪以后买办逐渐走向衰落。从三四十年代上海商业储蓄银行、中国征信所等所进行的调查中整理出大量有关买办的资料显示,在二十世纪前期买办呈现更为复杂的样态,在社会经济生活领域仍具有一定的势力与影响。

Compradors are the eminent social estate and biggish force in the treaty ports of modern China. The past research focused comprador’s rise and economic activities of the 19th century, and usually considered that the comprador decline in the 20th century.
