李大钊(1889-1927),中国最早的马克思主义者,中国共产党创始人之一,中国现代图书馆事业奠基人之一。李大钊在任北京大学图书馆主任的5年间,对中国图书馆事业多有建树。他对图书馆办馆方针、图书馆学教育、图书馆业务辅导、图书馆管理等方面都为中国现代图书馆事业的发展指引了方向、奠定了基础。

Li Dazhao(1889-1927),the earliest Marxistin china and one of the founders of Chinese Communist Party,was a forerunner of modern library.During the five years as the director of the library of Beijing university,he made great contributions to the cause of libraries in china.He laid a solid foundation and set the right orientation for the development of modern libraries in china in formulating policies for library management,teaching of library science,traing of librarians,and library management.
