摘要
当事业与爱情发生矛盾时,大多数男性会毫不犹豫地选择事业,放弃爱情,这就造成了男性生活上的悲剧。在男性所从事的事业当中,牧师这一职业无疑是事业和爱情势不两立,矛盾最突出,最尖锐的。本文试图从事业与爱情矛盾对立的角度,分析丁梅斯代尔和拉尔夫两位牧师形象。
When ambition and love contradict with each other,most men will go on with their ambition and give up their love,thus male tragedy in life.Among all the ambitions,being a priest is the one which excludes love.The contradiction of the two clergymen Dimmesdale and Ralph is analyzed in the paper.
