From the characteristics of energy resource structure, author has described the position of the coal chemical industry in the Chinese national economy and its developing tendency;analyzed the superiority and unfavorable situation for developing the coal chemical engineering;discussed the opportunity and risk facing during development of coal chemical engineering;and proposed the relative suggestions for developing the coal chemical industry.
